## Math Processes

The math processes are the vehicle through which math concepts are understood. The processes are Communicating, Problem Solving, Reasoning and Proving, Reflecting, Selecting tools and Computations Strategies, Connecting and Representing. Throughout the year, students will be assessed on their developing abilities to use these processes as they acquire the skills and knowledge in each of the math strands. More information about the math processes can be found at the following link.

## Great websites

Gizmos is a site that we use frequently in class to explore different math concepts. Students have a log-in which they can use to access their own Gizmo account.

We also use Math Frog frequently. This site does not require a student log-in, so any of the games or activities can be accessed at any time.

## Resources for Parents

The resource "Doing Mathematics with your Child" is an excellent pamphlet that explains the mathematics program in Ontario schools. It is full of great ideas for things that you can do to support your child's math learning at home. It can be downloaded here.
